Xaltocan
Xaltocan was an Otomí town on an island in Lake Xaltocan in the northern Valley of Mexico. From the 13th century it ruled a regional state, but around 1395 it was conquered by the Tepanecs of Azcapotzalco under Tezozomoc and many of its people dispersed. Excavations have made it a key site for the study of Postclassic central Mexico.
