Azcapotzalco
Azcapotzalco was the capital of the Tepanec state in the Valley of Mexico, which dominated the region in the late fourteenth and early fifteenth centuries. The Mexica of Tenochtitlan were initially its tributaries. In 1428 Tenochtitlan, Texcoco and Tlacopan defeated Azcapotzalco and formed the Triple Alliance that became the Aztec Empire.
