Xitle

Xitle is a small volcanic cone on the slopes of the Ajusco massif in the south of Mexico City. Its eruption produced the lava field of the Pedregal and buried the early city of Cuicuilco, contributing to the decline of Teotihuacan's main rival in the Basin of Mexico. The date of the eruption is debated, with estimates ranging from around the first century to the fourth century CE.
