Popocatépetl
Popocatépetl is an active volcano in central Mexico, at about 5,400 metres the country's second-highest peak, on the borders of the states of Puebla, Morelos and Mexico. Its name means 'smoking mountain' in Nahuatl. Eruptions in antiquity displaced communities in the Puebla–Tlaxcala region, and it has been frequently active since 1994, threatening the millions who live nearby.
