Yaghmurasan ibn Zayyan was the founder of the Zayyanid dynasty of Tlemcen in western Algeria. As Almohad power faded he took control of the city in 1235 and soon ruled independently, fending off the Hafsids to the east and the Marinids to the west in a long reign that lasted until 1283.
