Zaccaria
The Zaccaria were a Genoese merchant family who built an Aegean domain in the late 13th and 14th centuries. Benedetto Zaccaria received the alum mines of Phocaea from the Byzantines and occupied Chios in 1304, which the family held until 1329. A later branch, through Centurione II Zaccaria, ruled the Principality of Achaea until 1430.
