Zhangjiakou
Zhangjiakou, formerly known as Kalgan, is a city in north-western Hebei province, China, at a gateway through the Great Wall towards Mongolia. It long served as a trading centre between China, Mongolia and Russia, especially for tea caravans. During the Japanese occupation it was the capital of the Mengjiang government from 1939 to 1945, and it co-hosted the 2022 Winter Olympics.
