Zionism
Zionism is the nationalist movement that emerged in the late nineteenth century to establish a Jewish national homeland in Palestine. Its political form was founded by Theodor Herzl, whose writings and organisation of the first Zionist Congress in 1897 gave it international shape. Accounts of the Austro-Hungarian Empire list Zionist political theory among the intellectual products of fin-de-siècle Vienna.
