Abu Bakr Ahmad ibn Tahir
Abu Bakr Ahmad ibn Tahir was the head of the Banu Tahir, a local family who took effective control of the Taifa of Murcia in the 11th century. Murcia had been governed for the Amirid rulers of Almería and Valencia, but under him the family ruled as patricians, nominally under Valencia, drawing wealth from the irrigated farmland of the Segura valley.
