Ahiram

r. c. 1000 BCE · 11th century BCE

Ahiram was a king of Byblos, known from his stone sarcophagus found in the city's royal necropolis in 1923. The sarcophagus, made for him by his son Ittobaal and usually dated to around 1000 BCE, bears one of the oldest substantial inscriptions in the Phoenician alphabet, including a curse on anyone who disturbs the tomb. It is now in the National Museum of Beirut.
