Artemis of Ephesus
Artemis of Ephesus was the form of the goddess Artemis worshipped at Ephesus, in western Asia Minor, where she was the city's protector. Her cult statue, hung with rounded ornaments whose meaning is debated, differed from the Greek huntress and drew on older Anatolian traditions. Her great temple was one of the Seven Wonders of the World, and her cult spread to Greek colonies such as Massalia and Emporion.
