Bacharach
Bacharach is a small town on the left bank of the Rhine in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. In the Middle Ages it belonged to the counts palatine of the Rhine, who levied tolls on river traffic there, and it was a leading market for Rhine wine. Its half-timbered houses, town walls and Stahleck Castle make it part of the Upper Middle Rhine Valley World Heritage Site.
