Person
Bagauda
Bagauda is the legendary first king of Kano in northern Nigeria, who according to the Kano Chronicle came to power around 999 among the farming and iron-working communities near Dala Hill. Hausa tradition makes him a grandson of Bayajidda, the hero from whom the rulers of the Hausa states claimed descent. He is known only from this tradition.
