Barmen

Barmen is a former industrial town in the Wupper valley of western Germany, since 1929 part of the city of Wuppertal. With neighbouring Elberfeld it was one of Germany's earliest centres of textile manufacture, especially yarn bleaching, ribbons and lace, and it was the birthplace of Friedrich Engels in 1820.
