Battle of Bud Bagsak

1913 · 20th century · Part of the Moro Rebellion

The Battle of Bud Bagsak was fought in June 1913 on the island of Jolo in the southern Philippines between American troops under General John J. Pershing, with Philippine Scouts, and several hundred Tausug fighters who had fortified the mountain. Several hundred Moros, including women and children, were killed. It was the last major battle of the American campaign against the Moros, which ended armed resistance in Sulu.
