Battle of Hormozdgan

224 CE · 3rd century

The Battle of Hormozdgan was fought in 224 CE between Ardashir I and the Parthian king Artabanus IV. Artabanus was killed, and Ardashir was soon crowned king of kings. The battle ended the Parthian Empire and founded the Sasanian Empire.
