Bleda

d. c. 445 · 5th century

Bleda was a king of the Huns who ruled jointly with his younger brother Attila from the death of their uncle Rua around 435. Together they forced the Eastern Roman Empire to pay large tributes in gold under the Treaty of Margus and led raids into the Balkans in the early 440s. He died around 445, probably killed on Attila's orders, leaving Attila sole ruler.
