Brecon Cathedral

Also known as Brecon Priory

Brecon Cathedral, in Brecon in mid Wales, was founded as a Benedictine priory of St John the Evangelist by Bernard de Neufmarché around 1093, as a cell of Battle Abbey. After the priory was dissolved in the 1530s the church served the parish, and in 1923 it became the cathedral of the new diocese of Swansea and Brecon in the Church in Wales.
