Edward Stafford, 3rd Duke of Buckingham
Edward Stafford, 3rd Duke of Buckingham, was one of the greatest English nobles of the early Tudor period, a descendant of Edward III with large estates in England and the Welsh Marches, including Brecknock. His royal blood and hostility to Cardinal Wolsey made Henry VIII suspicious, and he was convicted of treason and beheaded in 1521, after which his lands were forfeited to the crown.
