Bylazora

Bylazora was the largest city of ancient Paeonia, on the Vardar near modern Sveti Nikole in North Macedonia. It controlled the passes between Paeonia and Dardania, and Polybius records that Philip V of Macedon captured it in 217 BCE. Excavations on the hill of Knezhje since 2008 have uncovered fortifications and buildings of the Hellenistic period that many scholars identify with Bylazora.
