Chellah
Chellah is a walled necropolis and ancient site on the edge of Rabat, Morocco, above the south bank of the Bou Regreg estuary. It began as the Phoenician and Roman town of Sala, and in the 14th century the Marinid sultans built a royal burial ground there with a mosque, tombs and a monumental gateway. Its ruins, home to nesting storks, form part of Rabat's World Heritage Site.
