Cowal

Cowal is a peninsula in Argyll and Bute in western Scotland, between Loch Fyne and the Firth of Clyde, with Dunoon as its main town. In the early Middle Ages it was the land of the Cenél Comgaill, one of the kindreds of the Gaelic kingdom of Dál Riata, whose name the peninsula preserves.
