Islay
Islay is the southernmost island of the Inner Hebrides of Scotland. In the early Middle Ages it was the home of the Cenél nÓengusa of Dál Riata, and from the 14th century it was the heart of the Lordship of the Isles, ruled from Finlaggan. It is now known for its farming, its birdlife and its whisky distilleries.
