Cuxhaven

Cuxhaven is a port town in Lower Saxony, Germany, at the mouth of the Elbe on the North Sea. It grew around Ritzebüttel castle, which belonged to Hamburg from 1394 and served as the city's outpost at the river mouth. It remained part of Hamburg until the Greater Hamburg Act of 1937 transferred it to Prussia.
