Dordrecht
Dordrecht is a city in South Holland, Netherlands, where several branches of the Rhine and Maas delta meet. Granted town rights in 1220, it is the oldest chartered town of Holland and long held staple rights over river trade. The first free assembly of the States of Holland met there in 1572 during the Dutch Revolt, and the Synod of Dort of 1618–1619 defined Reformed orthodoxy.
