Gidan Rumfa
Gidan Rumfa is the palace of the emir of Kano in northern Nigeria, built by Sarki Muhammad Rumfa in the late 15th century. Set in a large walled compound, it has remained the royal residence ever since, used by the Fulani emirs after the jihad of the early 19th century, and is one of the oldest continuously occupied palaces in Nigeria.
