Hallein
Hallein is a town on the Salzach in the Austrian state of Salzburg, south of the city of Salzburg. Its salt mine on the Dürrnberg, already worked by the Celts in the Iron Age, was the main source of the prince-archbishops' wealth. Mining continued until 1989, and the Celtic finds are shown in the town's museum.
