Hasanwayhids

c. 959–1015 · 10th century · Also known as Hasanuyids

The Hasanwayhids were a Kurdish dynasty that ruled parts of the central Zagros, including Dinawar and Kermanshah, from about 959 to 1015. Founded by Hasanwayh ibn Husayn, chief of the Barzikani Kurds, it reached its height under his son Badr ibn Hasanwayh, who was recognised by the Buyids and the Abbasid caliph. After Badr's death the dynasty declined and lost its lands to the Kakuyids and others.
