Herzberg am Harz

Herzberg am Harz is a town on the south-western edge of the Harz in Lower Saxony, Germany. Its hilltop castle served as a residence of the Guelph dukes of Grubenhagen until their line died out in 1596, after which it passed to the Lüneburg and Hanoverian branches. The half-timbered castle is one of the largest of its kind in Lower Saxony.
