Iberians
The Iberians were the pre-Roman peoples of the eastern and southern Iberian Peninsula, among them the Turdetani, Edetani and Ilergetes. They spoke a non-Indo-European language written in their own scripts, lived in fortified towns and produced sculpture such as the Lady of Elche. Contact with Greeks, Phoenicians and Carthaginians shaped their culture before Roman conquest from the late 3rd century BCE.
