Ilinden–Preobrazhenie Uprising
The Ilinden–Preobrazhenie Uprising was a revolt against Ottoman rule organised by the Internal Macedonian-Adrianople Revolutionary Organisation in August 1903. It began on Saint Elijah's Day in Macedonia, where rebels held Kruševo for ten days, and spread to the Strandzha mountains on the Feast of the Transfiguration. Ottoman forces crushed it within weeks.
