Isabeau of Bavaria

c. 1370–1435 · 15th century · Also known as Isabella of Bavaria

Isabeau of Bavaria was Queen of France as the wife of Charles VI, whom she married in 1385. A daughter of Duke Stephen III of Bavaria-Ingolstadt, she took part in government during her husband's bouts of madness, amid the feud between the Armagnacs and the Burgundians. She was later blamed for the Treaty of Troyes of 1420, which disinherited her son, the future Charles VII, in favour of Henry V of England.
