Iztaccíhuatl
Iztaccíhuatl is a dormant volcano in central Mexico, at 5,230 metres the country's third-highest mountain, on the border of the states of Mexico and Puebla. Its name means 'white woman' in Nahuatl, after its snow-covered ridges, which resemble a sleeping woman. With neighbouring Popocatépetl it overlooks the Valley of Mexico and the lands of the former Chalca confederation.
