Kerch
Kerch is a port city at the eastern tip of Crimea on the Kerch Strait. It stands on the site of Panticapaeum, a Greek colony founded by Miletus around 600 BCE that became the capital of the Bosporan Kingdom, and it later passed to Byzantium, Genoa, the Ottomans and, in 1774, Russia. It saw heavy fighting in the Second World War and has been under Russian control since 2014.
