Logroño
Logroño is a city on the Ebro in northern Spain and the capital of the autonomous community of La Rioja. Near the Roman town of Vareia, it grew in the Middle Ages as a crossing point on the pilgrim route to Santiago de Compostela, and received a charter in 1095. Long a frontier town between Navarre and Castile, it is now the centre of the Rioja wine trade.
