Mamilia gens
The Mamilia gens was a family of Tusculum in Latium that later became part of the Roman nobility. Its legendary leader Octavius Mamilius was the son-in-law of Tarquinius Superbus and is said to have led the Latins against Rome at Lake Regillus around 496 BCE. The family later gained Roman citizenship, and Lucius Mamilius Vitulus, consul in 265 BCE, was the first of several of its members to hold the consulship.
