Masuria
Masuria is a lake district in north-eastern Poland, part of the former East Prussia. Its many glacial lakes include Śniardwy and Mamry. Once the land of the Old Prussian Galindians, it was conquered by the Teutonic Order and resettled from the 14th century, largely by Polish-speaking settlers from Mazovia, and it passed from Germany to Poland in 1945.
