Mesa Vouno
Mesa Vouno is a limestone ridge on the south-east of Santorini, between Kamari and Perissa, that carried the ancient city of Thera. Dorian settlers from Laconia founded the town there in the early Iron Age, and its remains include temples, an agora, a theatre and some of the oldest Greek inscriptions, cut into the rock in the 7th century BCE. The city was inhabited into Byzantine times.
