Dorians
The Dorians were one of the main divisions of the ancient Greeks, speaking the Doric dialect. Greek tradition told of their arrival in the Peloponnese with the return of the Heracleidae after the Trojan War. In historical times Dorian cities included Sparta, Argos and Corinth, and Dorian settlers held Crete, Rhodes, Kos and the coast of south-west Anatolia, as well as colonies such as Syracuse.
