Moesia Inferior
Moesia Inferior was a Roman province on the lower Danube, covering present-day northern Bulgaria and the Dobruja region of Romania. It was created around 86 CE, when Domitian divided Moesia, and defended the Danube frontier with legions at Novae, Durostorum and Troesmis. Greek cities of the Black Sea coast, and garrisons as far as Tyras on the Dniester, were linked to it. It was reorganised in the late Roman reforms.
