Mount Hermon

Also known as Jabal al-Sheikh

Mount Hermon is a mountain cluster on the border of Syria and Lebanon, its highest summit reaching about 2,814 metres. Snow-capped for much of the year, it feeds the sources of the Jordan River and was regarded as sacred in antiquity, with many temples on its slopes. Its southern slopes lie in the Golan Heights.
