Muzaka family
The Muzaka were an Albanian noble family of the Myzeqe plain and Berat. In the 14th century Andrea II Muzaka received the Byzantine title of despot, and the family ruled Berat until the Ottoman conquest of 1417. Its members later joined Skanderbeg's League of Lezhë. In 1510 Gjon Muzaka, then in exile in Italy, wrote a short history of the family, an important source for medieval Albania.
