Myos Hormos
Myos Hormos was a port on the Red Sea coast of Egypt, at Quseir al-Qadim north of modern Quseir. Founded under the Ptolemies, it became under Roman rule one of the main harbours for trade with Arabia and India, linked by a desert road to Coptos on the Nile. The geographer Strabo reported that some 120 ships a year sailed from it to India.
