Narseh
Narseh was king of the Sasanian Empire from 293 to 302, a son of Shapur I. He seized the throne from Bahram III and recorded his victory in the Paikuli inscription, which lists the vassal kings who supported him. After early success against Rome he was heavily defeated by the Caesar Galerius in 298 and had to accept the Peace of Nisibis, ceding lands in northern Mesopotamia and influence over Armenia and Iberia.
