18th century · 18th century · Also known as Nasir Al Madhkur

Nasr Al-Madhkur was the Arab sheikh of Bushehr on the Persian coast of the Gulf in the mid-18th century, governing in the name of the Persian state. He extended his family's power across the Gulf by taking Bahrain in 1753. His governor there was driven out in 1783 by the Al Khalifa and the Bani Utbah from Zubarah, ending Bushehr's rule over the islands.
