Neum
Neum is a small town on the Adriatic coast that forms Bosnia and Herzegovina's only access to the sea, a strip about 9 kilometres wide dividing Croatian territory. Under the Treaty of Karlowitz of 1699 the Republic of Ragusa secured Ottoman possession of the strip as a buffer separating it from Venetian Dalmatia. The Pelješac Bridge, opened in 2022, links Croatian territory across it.
