Olympos (Lycia)

Olympos was a city on the coast of eastern Lycia, south-west of modern Antalya in Turkey, and one of the six leading members of the Lycian League. In the early 1st century BCE it was a base of the pirate chief Zeniketes, who burned himself in his house when Publius Servilius Vatia took the city around 78 BCE. Nearby is the Chimaera, where natural gas vents burn on the hillside.
