Pallantia
Pallantia was the chief town of the Vaccaei, a Celtiberian people of the Douro basin, on the site of modern Palencia in Spain. It resisted Roman attacks several times in the 2nd century BCE, including a siege by Lucullus in 151 BCE and another by Marcus Aemilius Lepidus in the 130s BCE. Under the Roman Empire it became a town of the province of Hispania Tarraconensis.
