The Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD) is a left-wing Mexican political party founded in 1989 by Cuauhtémoc Cárdenas and other dissidents from the ruling PRI, together with parties of the left, after the disputed election of 1988. It governed Mexico City from 1997 to 2018 and was the main left opposition until many members left for Morena. It lost its national registration after the 2024 elections.
