Passion of Jesus

c. 30–33 CE · 1st century · Also known as Passion of Christ

The Passion of Jesus is the Christian term for the suffering of Jesus in the last hours of his life, from his arrest in the garden of Gethsemane through his trial before Pontius Pilate to his crucifixion outside Jerusalem around 30 to 33 CE. It is told in all four Gospels and is central to Christian worship, art and devotion, including the veneration of relics believed to come from it.
